Finding My Place at IIT Bombay

In my early days at IIT Bombay, everything felt a bit overwhelming. Surrounded by brilliant minds and unfamiliar faces, I often felt like a small fish in a vast ocean. Even something as routine as the walk from the hostel to our department felt exhausting—especially under the relentless Mumbai sun. But with time, that same walk started feeling easier. Not because the weather changed, but because I was no longer walking alone.
The IIT Bombay campus is undeniably beautiful—lush greenery, serene lakes, and open spaces. But what truly brings it to life are the people you share it with. When friends start walking beside you, both literally and metaphorically, even the longest journeys feel a little shorter.
Life at IIT Bombay was a blend of highs and lows—bittersweet in the truest sense. The grind was real, and so was the pressure. I remember the anxiety before exams and the nerve-wracking stress of interview season. I made things harder for myself by overthinking everything. But in those moments of chaos, it was the people around me—my friends—who kept me grounded, who reminded me to breathe.
Looking back, I'm relieved that those intense days are behind me, but there's a part of me that misses them too—the late-night talks, the shared struggles, the laughter in between lectures. You only realise how special student life is once it's over. No matter how tough it gets, it's a chapter you'll cherish forever.
Oh, and that's Pablo, the celebrity dog on campus!
